Messier 2023

The North Central Kansas Astronomical Society will attempt another Messier Marathon for 2023. We are shooting for March 18th, weather permitting. March 25th is our backup date. We will again have a virtual cooperative effort with astronomers from across the states of Kansas and Texas.

Previous records: Dr. Luke Schmidt (2012) is the undisputed record holder with 104 objects! Todd K. Tuttle (2012) with 60. Tracy R. Tuttle (2012) with 50, Brett & Madison Beck (2022) with 7.

Results:

March 18th, 2023 was a brutally cold night! Got down to 2° F. That did not prevent us from setting new records for both Todd and Tracy Tuttle, at 103 objects. Luke still reigns supreme at 104.
