Each Spring astronomy enthusiasts around the world test their mettle against the daunting challenge of observing all 110 Messier Objects in one night. Our twist is to image them – a much more difficult task, and everyone is invited to the party! Click on the Messier 2013 link above to follow our imaging progress.
The 2012 marathon was a good success and a great time. Although we were unable to come close to the 2011 New Mexico Tech record of 104 of 110 objects, we did manage a respectable 44 to 60 objects by our imagers – clouds moved in around 3:30 am and slowed things down considerably. Click on the “Messier 2012” link to see the result of our efforts.
